This is a land of music and musicians, birthplace of great composers and performers, whose pieces combine folk and classical, traditional and contemporary music with a perfect mix of rhymes, melodies and chords. Here we can highlight the worldwide renowned “La Conga de Jaruco”. A very popular musical piece composed by Ernesto Vazquez Vizoso 80 years ago.
Many Cubans and foreign guests have crowded dance floors to enjoy the danzones “El Barbero de Sevilla” (The Barber of Seville) and “Ojos Triunfadores”, “Rompiendo la Rutina” and the piano compositions “Tres Lindas Cubanas”, a danzonete by Antonio María Romeo, member of an acclaimed and recognized musical family that gave prestige to the most important auditoriums of Cuba and the world.

But when talking about the musical and dance scene of Mayabeque, should be mentioned the contagious rhythm of the Tambores de Bejucal. Los Tambores de Bejucal are inspired by the popular tradition in the genre of street congas; and Tata Güines, who was a true virtuoso of Cuban percussion that created a new style. He died in 2008, and the phrase that accompanied him for many years became more valid: "... He is a conga drum-man (tumbadora) made of soul and flavor ..."
And if we continue talking about the musical scene we cannot fail to mention emblematic artists such as Odilio Urfé, Arsenio Rodríguez, and Maestro Alberto Pantaleón, along with many other creators.
