Architecture
The Center of Artemisa city stands out among the urban architecture. It has an urbanistic typology distinguishes by octagonal blocks which vary in length with domestic buildings from 19th and 20th century. In the city predominate the eclectic architecture characterized by buildings of high props of one or two flats with elements such as parapets, cornices and columns that are repeated in almost all installations. There are blocks with portals run like galleries. Its 70% of houses were built between 1890 and 1940.
Las Terrazas is a tourist rural community located on the shores of Lago San Juan in Sierra del Rosario (a mountain range). This tourist destination represents a milestone because of its harmonic architecture in an exceptional landscape that features by its natural and cultural values. The site develops a management plan aimed at the sustainable use of its resources, including the tourist assets and its maximus use for the community benefit. Las Terrazas was granted with the National Conservation Award in 2006.
